Postcrossing Meetings at the International Postcard Convention in Berlin (12-13 July 2025)

The countdown is on for the International Postcard Convention in Berlin, celebrating 20 years of Postcrossing! This exciting event, set to take place on 12-13 July 2025 at the Museum für Kommunikation Berlin, promises to gather postcard enthusiasts from all over Europe and beyond. With attendees arriving at different times across both days, the convention will be a dynamic and continuous celebration of postcards, creativity, and connection.

Attendance Overview

The diversity of attendance times ensures a lively atmosphere throughout the event. Based on responses to the Google form:

• 50% of respondents plan to attend on both days.
• 15% will join on Saturday at 10:00 AM.
• 27% will arrive on Saturday at 2:00 PM.
• 8% are expected on Sunday starting at 10:00 AM.
• Another 8% will join on Sunday at 2:00 PM.

This staggered attendance allows for a more relaxed and enjoyable experience for everyone, with plenty of opportunities to meet fellow postcrossers and participate in activities.

Visitors from Around the World

Adding to the excitement, attendees will come from at least 24 countries, making this a truly international event. According to the Google form responses, participants represent (alphabetic order):

Austria, Belgium, Czechia, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Moldova, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Switzerland, The Netherlands, Ukraine, and the United Kingdom.

This incredible diversity highlights the global reach of Postcrossing and the shared love for postcards that unites people across borders.

Event Highlights

Here’s what you can look forward to:

• Special Postmarks: Unique designs by Deutsche Post DHL Group will be available during the event.
• Meeting Cards: A variety of meeting card designs can be pre-ordered or purchased at the convention.
• Personalized Lanyards: Available for purchase to help identify fellow attendees and keep your essentials handy.
• Free Entrance: Access to the convention area is free for all visitors (museum tickets must be purchased separately).

Flexible Participation

Whether you're attending both days or just dropping by for a few hours on Saturday or Sunday, there’s something for everyone. The staggered schedule ensures that no matter when you arrive, you’ll have plenty of opportunities to connect with other postcard enthusiasts.

Tips for Attendees

1. Plan Your Visit: Decide which time slot works best for you and plan accordingly.
2. Order Items Early: Secure your personalized lanyard and meeting cards ahead of time to avoid missing out (please read other blog posts about)
3. Engage with Others: With visitors from so many countries attending, this is a unique chance to make new friends and exchange ideas.

Special Designed Lanyards

Another news is that all visitors of our event will have free entrance at ground level of the museum. And, upon your requests, we produced some lanyards - to "certify" that you are part of the event. They are not mandatory, but nice to have.

The lanyards have multiple purposes - they can be used as well after our event - to hang keys or to hang your phone. And they are decorated with postcard symbols with colour of German Flag - so not aggressive advertisement. They will come together with a plastic support and also a special cardboard/ postcard size where you can add your name and/ or postcrossing nickname with a marker. 

Those lanyards are a sign also for the museum staff in order to recognize the people who have them that they are part of the event.

Yes, we will have a special postmark at the event, made with the great help of  Deutsche Post, and here is the card to match that design. Please contact Anja here . Price: 0,30 euro/piece

A Long size postcard was made by Anja - (ankabegu on postcrossing) - to have enough space for a lot of signatures. (size of the card is 

21 x 10,5 centimeters. (DIN long - Deutsche Industrie Norm = German Industrial Standard)
