In December 2024, new postal rates were announced in Romania, valid from January 1, 2025. Thus, the postcard was abolished, with a single rate from 0 to 2000 grams of 20 lei. Given that the rate for a postcard in 2024 was 13 lei. (1 euro = 5 lei - to understand the values). I sent countless emails to the Romanian Post, I talked to several people in management, and today on the post office website appeared... the new rate from February 1, 2025, and a postcard will be... 14 lei! You can't imagine how happy I was that all my discussions had an echo! Otherwise - absolutely no one would have sent postcards (postcrossing or to friends), because that rate was... terrifyingly high! But patience and perseverance pay off! (It was pretty much the same with the launch of the postcrossing stamp in Romania, which I had a part in launching 😀
